Ahhhhhhh tis a funny thing indeed !!
Personally i see swinging as an all encompasing affair...... and by that i mean i probably prefer seeing cpls myself for a few reasons - but mainly for the reason that i ADORE seeing people happy and especially couples who are happy. I just have to admit that it gets me off seeing two fantastic people together sharing, trusting and loving each other and being secure enough to acknowledge their fantasies and actually having the courage and conviction to live them out together too.
This to me kind of defines swinging and i know that if the cpl i meet aren't ' getting off ' then neither am i. I know single guys have a bad rap of large, and i don't blame most cpls for this aversion from them either as most don't have the 1st clue what swinging is about to cpls or have the right attitude or ethos about meeting cpls either. Some guys just think its about fucking some guys wife and they are doing them a favour amoungst other horror story of lines cpls have told me they have heard!!
Personally i totally respect any persons decision and right to see / do what they want to do with no need for justification altho it does make me giggle at times when i see most cpls wanting single bi fems only ...... i mean surely what is good for the goose is also good for the gander. I am not going to mention insecurities on any cpls part here because as mentioned before ......swinging is something that is meant to transcend these jealous, insecure attitutes and replace them with openminded liberated attitutes surely ??
All i can say is that persoanlly as a single guy i am never there under duress or cohesrion, but invited into a situation where i have the utmost respect for the people i meet and being invited into a part of the inner sanctum of their relationship - but i also MORE than understand the capacity i visit people in and have the utmost respect for them too.
I appreciate and respect people having different approaches and attitutes to swinging and everyone does it on their own terms ......... but what does everyone else make of it ??

This place and other such sites are rife with bullshitters and timewasters and wannabe's Funky ...... and you, like me, are not one of these at all !! If you do spend enought time in here tho it does become a tad poltical and its why i backed off from using SP really ...... the bullshit and backstabbing has always been here and it just seems worse sometimes is all hunni. It can become a tad disillusioning epecially when the gossip mongering becomes rife.
Well all i say is flatter yourself with the people who do actually KNOW you as being the lovely genuine person that they KNOW you are and as for the rest of them ...... well, you can't really worry about what they think as it doesn't warrent your time or energy - god only knows i have been down that path a few times on here !!
People think they know you or know ' of ' you from your profile or what they hear from others who have usually never met you either and the whole bitch machine goes into overdrive ....... i would think they have better things to do with their time because i know i do !!
I'm sorry to tell you its inevitable its going to happen, and more so to genuine strong characters Funky but ignore the bollocks that you know to be untrue and speak your truth quietly and firmly ....... and keep the faith ok sister !!

The old boring way is to alternate each alcoholic drink with glass of water as it has a two fold effect ....... it keeps you hydrated but also slows down your drinking and therefore the overall alcohol intake. Otherwise eat a big meal or drink milk to line the stomach to slow down the alcohol absorption beforehand. Before bed also drink the old pint of water trick and take a Vit C tablet to stave off the effects of alcohol.......
....... but my favourite has also got to be the full fry up and a cpl of cups of coffee - its tried and tested on me and i always bounce back if i can keep it down !! lol xxx
Failing that ........ a good hard shag - it might not cure the hangover but it always feels fab and helps to relax you and get you back off to sleep to avoid the hangover !!! hehehe xxx

I have been doing this naturally and pretty much without question for quite a while now Fruity ....... i like to look out for nice people and make sure they are safe and having fun.
Its usually single females who i have done this for as i know the stigma attached to swinging and single females by the uneducated, uninitialted narrow minded general public and if they have no one they can tell, i always just advise them to send me a text when leaving ..... and one on getting back home etc just to make sure all is well and this way is very unobtrusive.
In fact if i meet a single female myself i usually ask if someone knows where they are as it makes ME feel more comfortable that someone knows where they are too - i usually mention if they need to make a call / send a text etc they they should feel free too ........ even if its just to bail out !! lol xx

Now lets be fair ......... its not just women who struggle being alone on Valentines day !! I suppose its just that some of us fella's are shy at showing it and misrepresented, but that doesn't mean to say we don't feel it too tho. I am as soft as a bag of bollocks personally and love to spoil the one i love and have no problems admitting or displaying this either...... but i am also a HUGE equalitist and it should be compeletely complimentary as in the same way the best relationships always are.

As you said SP is still a good friendly site and i know myself there are some peeps on here that i have chatted to for ages now and not actually met ..... and truth be known, if we did meet i'd probably prefer it not to progress to being physically expressed ( for the less subtle peeps out there ie shagging !! lol xx ) It would feel more like shagging my friends rather than meeting someone, having sex and becoming friends - hope that makes sense !! hehehe.
I still love to come into SP to chat and have banter with like minded chraacters but i still look forward to actually meeting people as swinging is more of a lifestyle choice than a fanciful hobby to me. I am very philosophical and organic with my approach to swinging ...... its not something we are all going to be doing forever and i kind of like to think i am ' fated ' to meet the people i meet and i have never had a bad meet as a result, quite the opposite in fact - most of my meets have been fantastic and i now know lots more fab peeps as a result and let me tell you peeps, if you don't actually meet ....... you're missing out on the best bit !! lol xxx

Hi Mo hunni - thanks for bringing this up, its something i noticed a cpl of yrs ago now and i have sinced moved to another site where people actually meet regularly. The site i now use has a swing date board and people actually use it too !! I have had more meets there in 18 mths that i have had here in 3 yrs to give you some idea........ despite starting my degree over a yr ago, and maintaining a full time job !! Also i have never set foot in the site chat room and just simply corresponded thro mail via the site and had many great meets and met many fantastic people.
I know there is never any pressure to meet but i noticed exactly the same things as you have pointed out quite a while ago now ...... so i got pro-active about it and moved sites !! lol xx
I maintain my m'ship here as i still find SP a very social site and i used to spend many an hour in the chat room until i started a full time degree on top of my full time work still and i now no longer have as much time......but i still MAKE time to meet people myself. I still enjoy popping in to say hi to some of the fab peeps in here. I can rarely make socials myself as i now work permanent weekends but i still like like to actually meet people !!
The weekends are still the same in here ie more people in the room chatting than actually meeting. I didn't want to say that at the risk of people jumping up and berating me explaining their various reason's for not being able to meet etc - its stating the bladdy obvious as we ALL have time constraints ....... but we are talking more inclination here methinks ??
In short Mo, my advice would be think about joining another site to actually meet and stay on at SP to chat as i do ........ and and BTW as i always say Mo - go hard ...... or go home !! lol x

I have been laughing my bollocks off over this thread for a little while now and i am not even going to offer an opinion ....... only to say its ALWAYS the individuals / cpls choice and NO ONE has to justify their choices in swinging to anyone else.
I say we were ALL single at one time so its always a consideration and i have always found the best attitute is one of ' i have no expectations and i make no promises ' - only if i say i will turn up to a meet then i always do - this way there can be no disappointments.
I usually love meaty contentious threads ...... but there is just no end to this one !! What were you thinking when you started it True ??!! lol xx
