Actually two requests:- ONE: I have been going back over some early (?) posts back to 2004 and there are still profiles on here that say "More than 2 weeks ago" for their last visit and they have 1 or 2 posts. Surely a percentage of these will be inactive profiles? It would help the ACTIVE users if these inactive profiles were marked as such after, say 3 months of no activity. Good idea or not (Admin don't say it can't be done cos it can!) TWO: When we first joined free members were easily identified while browsing profiles. It used to say something like "XXX is not a full member". This was helpful and saved time. Why did it change and why can't we have it back? Good idea or not (Admin don't say it can't be done cos it can!) The site boasts members at the time this is written but we all know not all of them are fully paid members and frankly we'd rather see quality more than volume, so the old adage of 'less is more' rings true here. So come on Admin, let's get some help on this. And before you moan back at us let us say we LIKE this site, it's among the best we've seen and all we want is to make it even better and you can still show the big numbers to newbies and possible members but give the paid members better tools...please! We love Admin! :bounce: P.S. Why can't we preview a new thread before it's added?
Too right mwm, have no idea why Admin thought to change the profiles so we couldn't see who was free or paid up. Think people have asked for it to be changed back before now but never get a reply from Admin. So yes... Admin may we have it back the way it was please, think everyone will agree it's not fair for the fully paid up members to be mailing people who aren't really serious about the swing.
And can we have a button at the bottom of Forum threads to go back to the top please!! :bounce:
Just so you know we've been inundated with responses from Admin..... ....not! sad
Right this thread is officially dull..............so i wanna know Jan am I eva gonna get in your knickers............or shud I be more direct.:haha::haha: :giggle::giggle:
Right this thread is officially dull..............so i wanna know Jan am I eva gonna get in your knickers............or shud I be more direct.:haha::haha: :giggle::giggle:
Sorry Mr Northlondon...do we know you? :bounce:
Admin - why cant we tell if someone is a paid up or free member anymore?
Admin....guys what do we need to do to get some kind of response...even if it's piss off you miserable customer? :bounce:

My door is always open for PMs. Point 1, we don't feel that it's our responsibility to close accounts without permission. If someone wants to leave the site, they can follow the cancellation steps. We have seen user sign up and then not use the site for months - they received one PM and they've since used the site daily. Point 2, after complaints we withdrew the notice on profiles that users were free or paid members. It was claimed that it was an unfair judgement that they couldn't pay the site fees thus putting off any one getting in touch and pointless them being members. There is still a backdoor to find premium members, by using the Search Members function: Admin.
Sorry, I'm normally a slow picking up forum posts. My door is always open for PMs. Point 1, we don't feel that it's our responsibility to close accounts without permission. There is still a backdoor to find premium members, by using the Search Members function: Admin.
Point 1. OK fair enough but you have the technology to show far more accurate dates than "Last used more than 2 weeks ago". If a member is dormant and hasn't used the site for 3 months or more we'd like to know as that means they are unlikely to be active players. So as a 'tool' to aide your paying members why not extend the "More than.." field to offer more information or more dates...More than 3 months, more than 6 months as examples. You have the data, you already have the code in place so all you have to do is extend the range of dates. Point 2. "Complaints"? From who? I can guarantee it would not have been from paying members as this is a topic we all seem to comment on, so it could only be a complaint from the free members. So, sorry guys, it doesn't make sense. Again, surely the paying members have 'more rights' than free members? All we are asking for is some way of identifying real, active, probable players and none of us want to waste time trying to open relations with people who can't respond. And as for the backdoor, yes we know it is available but when a member is viewed by someone or if they click on other links we can't distinguish free from paid. As for the 'unfair judgement' statement don't you think it is also unfair to your paying members? So, how about a compromise...why not add a new icon "We're interested" so paying members can let free members know that genuine players would like to open discussions. That way members know they don't need to re-visit a profile and that their job is done in one click and free members know there is interest and have to pay to follow up. If you don't think it's important to us then keep track of the next thread I am about to post as that will be a poll asking the very same question. Point 3. As for open to PM's - how do we do that, just add Admin in the address line? Point 4. Why can't we preview a new thread before it's added? Point 5. Can we have a button at the bottom of Forum threads to go back to the top please!! Point 6. Suggestions: There have been a few threads offering suggestions to improve an already good site but we never see responses from Admin. Maybe you would say PM Admin but these are often better as posts in the forum as different people can offer different viewpoints. So why not add a Feedback forum? Shouldn't be too difficult should it? And finally........ Point 7. It's really hard to compose posts of any length in these small boxes...can we have them bigger please? Admin...can't live with 'em, can't live without them!! smile :bounce:
Point 2, after complaints we withdrew the notice on profiles that users were free or paid members. It was claimed that it was an unfair judgement that they couldn't pay the site fees thus putting off any one getting in touch and pointless them being members. Admin.
Yes but, if I were to PM a free member (without knowing they were a free member) they can't respond to me anyway as free members can't send messages! So what's the point of that? They can't respond so I just assume they were not interested when they could possibly be but just can't reply to me. And yes I understand that there are some people out there who maybe can't afford to pay the fees so if there was some sort of notification telling us that they were free members then we would know and possibly give them an email or messenger address...
Point 8. Can we have an option to see who has added you as a favourite please? The last 10 or so items needs beefing up, so a complete list would be good - like the list you get when you click "my favourites" but showing those members who have added you? Hmmm, can we, please? :bounce:
Point 9 And can we please have a list of emoticons in the chatroom that we can just click on like in messenger so we don't have to remember about a 100 of 'em! Can we pretty please admin... I will be your best friend... I promise.... we LOVE you admin.... :inlove:
And to make your life a little easier Admin I have cut 'n pasted a series of requests from an earlier thread... Point 10. from aiglos I'd like to see an option on the search function that allows you to search by member's last activity date, to allow you to filter out the 'dead' profiles. Point 11. from mwm69 How about only allowing free members 20 views of profiles and then they are locked out until they become members. Something to weed out the fakes maybe? Or are the fakes only free members? Fake couples who are actually single men....SP requires a phone call from the female while signed in so they can check stuff? Easier access to emotes in chat!!! Point 12. from sm-pd would like to get an e mail when someone has replied to a thread on the forums that I'm following, so you "subscribe" (I think that's the word they use on other web sites) to the thread. Point 13. from oliviak I would like a list of emoticons in the chatroom that you can just click on instead of having to remember them as I can only remember about 5! I would also like to be able to sort the list of chatters in the chatroom instead of having to scroll through when it is only sort of in alphabetical order. A tag or something on member's profiles letting us know if they are premium members or free members would be good too. I know you can specify in a search to only bring up premium members but that isn't specific enough if you just want view a members profile after they have added you to their faves or something. Point 14. from fun4u2me2 Yeah ...... bring back the full paid member or free member status. Point 15. from brujah A simple search function on the fourms . 1) All posts by member name 2) all new posts (today ) 3) all posts with no replies. Point 16. from aiglos how about a section on the 'my groups' page that lets you know about new activity on groups you're a member of? Point 17. from oliviak I just thought of something else... On a person's profile it says when they were last "seen". But this is just limited to today, yesterday, a week ago and more than 2 weeks ago. But more than 2 week ago could mean they have either been on holidays for 2 weeks or they registered, had a look for a day or 2 and never came back. An actual date of last activity would be useful as well as maybe having accounts go inactive after a certain amount of time. We could then serach for only active users. The site currently says there are registered users. But how many are those active users who have paid subscription? A small percentage if I would guess. Oh and while I am at it... The favourites list doesn't work too well as it often says that one of my faves is in the chatroom when they're not! Plus, I have been chatting to one of my fave's in the chatroom and on my list of favourites it said he wasn't even online. Also, it would be good to be able to search in forums and stories by other means, such as by date posted or by user name. Oh and can we have a bigger box to type stuff in for the forums and profiles?? I ramble on a bit and lose track of how much I have written cos can only see 5 lines worth! lol OK, sorry just getting really picky now.... have I used up my 5 things yet?? Am I helping? :bounce:
Admin please don't be scared of us.... we love you! (Is that too much sucking up???? pmsl)
Admin please don't be scared of us.... we love you! (Is that too much sucking up???? pmsl)
We do!!!!!!!!! Honest...all we want is an even better site! As for sucking up....I probably shouldn't comment as the thread would deteriorate!! :bounce:
Point 8. Can we have an option to see who has added you as a favourite please? The last 10 or so items needs beefing up, so a complete list would be good - like the list you get when you click "my favourites" but showing those members who have added you?
There is, it's in 'my homepage' which can be found in the user menu box on the right hand side.
No..that shows your own favourite list. This request is looking to see a list of other people who have added your profile into their favourites list smile :bounce:
Point 18. from karen_dave I'll tell you something that I'd like to see, and that's the removal of the "more than 2 weeks" since a person has last logged on thing on someone's profile. We waste so much time trawling through profiles of people that haven't been on here for years and years.
Point 18. This would make life so much easier for all of us and as mentions by mwm all we are trying to do is make the site better becaus e we love it if we didnt we wouldnt pay to be members woud we?????
si2171, We're only taking responsibility for 8 or 9 of these points so far. Read back and you'll see many other people have added many interesting points. Make sure you vote fella! :bounce:
Point 19. Sorry guys but it has to be said... "Members who may interest you" they never do cos none of them even look real. How about something less random...or just lose the feature altogether?
Point 9 And can we please have a list of emoticons in the chatroom that we can just click on like in messenger so we don't have to remember about a 100 of 'em! Can we pretty please admin... I will be your best friend... I promise.... we LOVE you admin.... :inlove:
now this I agree with emotions buttons at the bottom of chat would be soo helpfull to all please admin this would be so simple to add I have no doubt in that please can you sort this. Many thanks

Thanks for your reply wave BUT it doesnt actually show you a list of who has you on THEIR list. Yes you get an email to say they have added you, but then thats it...................
There is, it's in 'my homepage' which can be found in the user menu box on the right hand side.
No that is not what was meant! People add you to their faves and you can see when they first do it.. BUT what is being asked for is a list of members that have added us as faves! ALL of them not just the most recent!

I can't believe you want us to see SP as some sort of charity for poor swingers who can't pay their way. The purpose of the free members is to bloat the membership figures. I have no problem with that, but I do have a problem with using them as an excuse to provide a lesser service.

Sorry, I'm normally a slow picking up forum posts. Admin... You are a true superstar and thanks...it really is appreciated. A few issues remain outstanding but I'm happy that you are aware of them and even happier that you have listened and acted. Well, done. What was already a great site just got better!!:cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers::cheers: :bounce: Now - get back to work and sort the other stuff out!! ;)
Fantastic response Admin thanks. Only problem is that my profile says I am a free member! But I definitely am not!
