Too true TrueScorp - this is what the petition is about (see below) so if you agree that people should be punished if they attack for no reason other than that the person they are attacking is "different" let me know and I'll give you the link. Love A x
Most gothic/subcultural people regularly complain of being harrassed, abused, spat on or attacked for the way they look, having done or said nothing to otherwise provoke this. People who prefer ‘darker’ fashions; who sport facial piercings, alternative makeup or dyed hair regularly experience being singled out on these grounds, by the less tolerant. When this escalates to physical attack and, in this instance, death of an innocent person, it is clearly unnacceptable.
According to the home office, the definitions of ‘Hate Crime’ include race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation and disability. We feel this list should also include: “On the basis of personal appearance or subcultureâ€.
Not allowed to put email addys in the forums but if you mail me and its ok with admin and the moderators I don't mind mailing the address to people as the more people that sign this petition thats going to No 10 Downing Street the better after all we're all classed as "different" in "normal" society cause people don't understand why we swing - why should we stand back and let a young woman be kicked to death (her injuries were much more horrendous than that but its pointless upsetting people with the extent of her injuries - much better to sign the petition) just for dressing as a goth!
