UPDATE:
We're back from the USA and we've had an email from the Masquerade Ball people.
The latest date we can advise them of our numbers is 4 weeks prior to the ball. Therefore all interested parties need to advise us by no later than April 8th.
:bounce:
P.S. We have to assume that there will not be sufficient numbers for an SP member only ball, so the date for the ball is May 8th.

Oli
Bollocks is a word of Anglo-Saxon origin, meaning "testicles". The word is often used figuratively in British English, as a noun to mean "nonsense", an expletive following a minor accident or misfortune, or an adjective to mean "poor quality" or "useless". Similarly, the common phrases "Bollocks to this!" or "That's a load of old bollocks" generally indicate contempt for a certain task, subject or opinion. Conversely, the word also figures in idiomatic phrases such as "the dog's bollocks" and "top bollock(s)", which usually refer to something which is admired, approved of or well-respected
Just thought we should clear up any misunderstanding of the said word.....:giggle:

Further to a related post in another forum we have copied part of our post from that to here, just so interested members are aware:-
".....And yes we know May is a long way of and there are loads of things happening before then but the fundamental problem is that the numbers of interested people is an important figure to know sooner rather than later as a small number sets the earlier date and we have to advise the organisers to RESERVE tickets for SP members to match that amount and anything close to 200 (ha ha) sets the later date but still requires us to advise the organisers as they have to arrange premises, facilities, 20 staff and professional performers.
Another week, maybe two and we will be forced to take the shared event by default and then it will be dead easy to organise as it will be first come, first served and SP members will have to take pot luck."
So if SP members want an SP only event we need another 185 people to express serious interest within the next two weeks. Otherwise we'll be taking our chances in a shared event.
:bounce:
Midgie et al,
We asked what your fav month was simply to try and point people to the May Ball thread (as we did in other forums with other equally pointless threads) ... but I am sure you understand that.
And yes we have noted that you have expressed interest. So this thread isn't about you, it's about other people going to and reacting to the May Ball thread and expressing their interest.
And yes we know May is a long way of and there are loads of things happening before then but the fundamental problem is that the numbers of interested people is an important figure to know sooner rather than later as a small number sets the earlier date and we have to advise the organisers to RESERVE tickets for SP members to match that amount and anything close to 200 (ha ha) sets the later date but still requires us to advise the organisers as they have to arrange premises, facilities, 20 staff and professional performers.

Oh dear, someone has fed the Twoons raw meat for breakfast!
:bounce:
Well, the masks have to stay on until the 'Ritual' (whatever that is) and then you are free to take them off. I think the 'Ritual' is at 11:30, so they don't have to be on for that long really.
:bounce:
Don't think she's talking hand jobs anyway!
:bounce:
We know that Fun but the truth is we don't actually have that much time. Decisions are needed because if, as the original post/poll shows, the majority are looking for an SP exclusive ball - and that means a minimum of 200 (which we think is really unachievable based on previous events and current membership).
So the reality means we'll probably have a shared event and the organisers usually sell out well in advance - so we have to confirm numbers for them to reserve tickets. If we don't get in quick they will be sold.
And yes, it's a pain posting this 7 months early and yes it would be nice to get Xmas and stuff out of the way but the reasons stated above stand.
:bounce:
So does that mean you guys are coming then?
:bounce:
Maybe - there's a lot of birthdays in May 2010. And a masked ball I heard!!
