Nancy .. to be honest I always said if I stopped being a mod I would probably leave SP anyway.. as I said its not just the job thats changed so there would really be no point in me staying, as much as I would miss people. This isnt to say I not may want the pleasure of some company one day, I've not totally given up that idea!!

Hiya guys and gals
As some of you already know, I've decided to leave SP. For those who didn't know.. I'm leaving!!
This is something I have been considering for a while now, have discussed it with Chip my wonderful hubby and decided now is as good a time as any.
Reasons are many - I can't always commit my time as much as I used to (yes contrary to opinion mods do have a life too) and with a move to Canada (crossed fingers) on the cards soon we both really have a lot on our plates.
There is also another side to my decision - I have been here a fair while and feel that this site is not the same as the one I nervously joined. I have seen people come and go and whilst I appreciate change is inevitable I can't say I want to change along with it. I won't go into how I think it has changed as everyone will have a different opinion of what type of site they want to belong to.
When I became a mod I did it not for popularity, indeed that is the last reason to become a mod!! I did it as I saw so much trouble going on at a time when the other mods couldn't always be there, I wanted SP to be a fun and safe place for like-minded lovely people to enjoy visiting without the hassle. I've made enemies along the way as well as many friends, some of which I never had the pleasure of meeting but always had a good time chatting to in the room. Any decision I ever made as a mod I did in the best interests of SP and its members, it was never personal and I always tried to be fair.
Anyway.. if you still want to stay in contact with me my addy will be available. I've already threatened some people for theirs as I'm really gonna miss them!
So I guess after this weekend you can hang up the bunting and the balloons and thank god I've gone lol - until then I'll still do what I'm here for so be warned!!!

I've not had any comments added to my profile for about a year simply because I've not met anybody for quite a while (reasons too various to go into here). Sorry to hear you feel so bitter about your experience (or lack of it perhaps) on SP. The simple fact is there are so many single guys on here that sadly people can pick and choose whom they wish to meet. I'm sure your a very nice guy but right now, sounding as you do, no one will even consider talking to you with a view to meet.
Maybe you should just cancel your membership now as it appaers you're certainly not happy here...

trust me - I work in customer services and we had a prem rate number for certain enquiries. The amount of people who complained that as they were already paying us so didnt see why they should have to pay more ... can't see that a lot of people would be happy with that.
At the end of the day there are flaws in anything involving people online.. not saying its right or fair... but I don't think its something we can ever eradicate fully

... as we've ALWAYS said.. if you find a profile to be fake in any way, shape or form then please report it to us.
When people submit a profile we can't tell at the time if they are lying or not. This is a sad reality in the online world. The ONLY way we get to find out is through you guys and gals out there. We do what we can but if anyone can tell us (other than going to someone's home address) how to tell if a single fem's profile is really a guy.. or that a single is posing as a couple..then we will gladly take the suggestions on board.
At the end of the day we don't want sp to be a haven for liars and cheats anymore than the rest of you so work with us eh??

well ... I like to think that how I am in the room is how I am in real life - tho some people get the strangest ideas! - but I really dont get a 'kick' out of being horrible to people so don't actually enjoy some of the things I have to do in the room....

As I will reiterate - we can only act when we are told about any trouble. The problems we are having right now is that noone tells us anything until its too late. Sometimes we get whispered by someone who needs some help/advice. We urge them to file an abuse report so that we can act... and we find-nothing. People decide not to say anything, either in case they think they're wasting time or more to the point that if its found out they have complained then the flak will come back to them.
Another problem is that alot of problems happen off-site, ie at meets, socials etc. It annoys the hell out of us that people are too clever to bring trouble on site but we cant hold jurisdiction over what happens at private meets, or m s n etc.
In short guys, we hate this situation as much as you do, we constantly look at ways that we can try and eradicate this. Sadly tho, as in life, there will always be someone with an axe to grind, someone who is never happy until they make someone feel bad. All we can do is ask you guys to start trusting us with these problems and help us to get sp back to where it was xxxxxxxxxxxxx
