Hi, I'm Bruce and a newbie on here and I'm really wondering if it makes any sense for a single guy to pay for a premium membership when there is so much supply and so little demand? I've really been pretty disappointed at the low response level (Admin has been the biggest sender of emails to me) although realise I'm not exactly in a prime candidate situation. So... thought I would explore this, but it seems to be quite a waste of time. Any thoughts from those more experienced?
Hi Bruce,
You're right - there are lots (and lots!) of SMs on this site, but that isn't an automatic bar to meeting people. I'm fortunate enough to have had a good number of exceptional meets since joining, and have made lots of good friends on here.
The big thing is to have patience - you seem to have only been a member for 6 weeks or so, which is nothing. It took me 6 months to get my first meet, and then slowly but steadily after that things have gone from strength to strength as people get to know me.
Too many SMs, unfortunately, display a lack of respect, and a good tip is to not fall into that trap. This can actually work in our advantage - SMs who are considerate and respectful are in a comparative minority, so if you start to get a reputation for having those qualities more people will be drawn to you.
Despite what a lot of profiles say, many people (especially couples), will actually meet single males once they feel they know them well enough. They just prefer not to advertise this fact or else they will end up being pestered by the aforementioned inconsiderate members.
The chatroom is the best place to get yourself noticed and to let people get a feel for your personality. Check out my "Chatroom Tips for Newbies" thread at the top of the "New and Nervous" forum.
The bottom line is, though, if you're in a hurry, you're probably on the wrong site.
Good luck
Suds

Thanks Suds.
I have tried to be a bit different in my profile...
But, I am also only here (in the UK) for a few more weeks and will cease to be a premium member tomorrow. So, thanks for the advice... and I think my expectations were probably too high. Never mind. It was worth exploring...
And thanks for your response.
Bruce
hi im also new here!
the problem is i found is people sending me e mails but i can't reply ! i paid premium membership and the site wont let me send outbound e mails? etc....

Slim,
This should work as far as I'm aware. Sounds like an Admin problem to me. Hopefully one of them will spot this post shortly and do something about it. If not (and it could get missed because it's part of a less-obvious thread), start a new thread about your emailing problem - probably best in the "Anything Goes" forum.
I'd try emailing Admin directly, too (use the "Contact Us" link on the left hand side of the screen), but of course there's always a chance that you won't be able to email admin either!

thanks sudsey e mailed them two days ago from my pvt adress seems like they dont exist?? cant e mail them from this site? uploasd a photo change profile or anything else except browse the forums and a few profiles! the chatroom seems fine except for it sometimes taking you 2 minutes to reply!

slimchance, can I ask what you can see when you try to reply to a message? If you can post here or send me an email at the info address, we can get to the bottom of this.
Thanks.
