There can't be many chatroom regulars by now who don't know this, as I've bored pretty much everyone with it recently, but the time is almost here for me to submit to the knife and have my back rebuilt. In the unlikely event that anyone doesn't know, I've ruptured 4 discs, and this means having artificial stabilizers drilled into place between 3 levels of vertebrae. Ouch ! Anyway, if you wonder why I disappear for a week or two after 29th Oct, you now know why. I've had operations in the past and been perfectly relaxed about those, but this one is a biggy, and with less than a week to go, quite frankly, I'm bricking it ! :crazy: So, wish me luck, and hopefully I'll be up and about and recovered in time for CC's party in February. Fingers crossed! Suds

Good luck sudsy, i know its not good telling you they do this alot as i know how it would feel to be in your shoes. Pleaase try and relax though and well see you in february for night of drunkeness drinkies

best of luck mate.....you know i can sympathise cos ive had a ruptured disc but nothing as serious as yours......hope the recovery goes well....keep us posted..........at least you will not be in any state to chase the nurses :giggle::giggle:

Suds I wish you the greatest of luck with the op and hope that you have a speedy recovery too. Keep the chin up,:therethere: Rosie :rose: P.S. a good tip i got off my husband during chemo was to say you were feeling sick and get some cyclizine for it (if injected it gets you high and also makes you a bit sleepy). This is a handy extra when if the pain killers are a bit patchy rolleyes

Just to let you all know that I got a txt from Suds this morning and thought you would all like to hear it...... "Op went really well. I am now full of metal! Feeling remarkably good all things considered,but got absolutely zero sleep last night as I was on hourly obs. Next phase is to try standing! Phill
