(enters room, places soap box on floor and stands on it) What a great place the chat room is - I always enjoy being there, chatting to regular friends, and also making new ones as I go along. I'm sure this is a feeling shared by all who use the room. Lately, there has been the recurrence of one major personal irritation - the braggarts and big-heads. There's only a few who I can count on one hand that come to mind, but it's so 'in your face' when you're in there. Most of the time I just try and ignore it, but one can take enough shit hanging in the air. To the couples and singles out there who think it's wise to brag. Just what are you trying to prove by letting the whole room know that you've been busy 'playing', as well as telling everyone who you've met, and who you're about to meet? We really don't want to know, and find it incredibly boring and pathetic. Sometimes I even wonder just how much of it is actually true, not to mention that I think it's bad form in the swinging world anyway. I know who you are, and anyone guilty of publilc bragging reading this will, I'm sure, know just who they are. Additionally, there have been instances where newcomers to the room have been frightened off with an immediate predatory move on them. Views on this will differ from person to person but, in my opinion, real successful swingers who uphold a good reputation don't need to brag about anything, nor do they EVER make any effort to scare people off. Two points I'd like to make: 1. Keep the graphic details of your swing meets, true or fictitious, to yourself. None of us want to be sickened by big-headed boasts, and it also reflects very badly on you in public chat, though you may not realise it yourself. 2. Please don't frighten off newcomers with your predatory approach. Look at it this way; newcomers to the room could be your potential new swinging partners, so be kind to them. In short, no one likes a big head. Don't get me wrong, I have quite a healthy swinging life without it ruling other corners of my life, and without having to brag to all and sundry about it, so inane boasts don't impress me at all. They just make me want to stick my fingers down my throat................ Cat
well said dude
Being a newbie i would say that is exceptionally well said .xx
Well I know that isn't me you're talking about Swingin cos our last meet was in October lol. Though I have to say that I have bragged in the past about some conquests :O I take on board what you are saying but I don't mind a bit of harmless bragging in the chat room, it doesn't bother me either way if someone wants to tell the world and his dog what they're doing or have got up to. I guess, in essence, I'm saying its an each to their own kind of thing. Its funny Swingin how you and I get on so well but whenever you make a statement about something in here I seem to find myself of a differing opinion - I guess its true then that opposites attract ;)

You're not like that, and I know that for a fact, especially as you were one of the first chat friends I got to know here. Have to say I am very proud to call you a good friend. We may have differing opinions on certain issues, but that doesn't stop me loving you to bits! xxx
10/10 to the swinging cat - again. harmless banter is gr8 (true or false) but the serial graphic instalments is oh so - kiss and tell. i was chatting to one of my good friends (platonic and no more I might add) and I was narrating to her how annoying one particular bragger was right down to the synchronised tattoo bumping etc. After a few mins, it became all to apparent that the bragger was bragging about a meet with my mate, she felt so humiliated and degraded to think that the graphic details had been mentioned in public chat that my heart went out to her. she felt like her pillow talk was known by all. she was so betrayed - it was like she had been violated. yes - this posting may well shock the reader. to the innocent reader - my apologies. to the braggers - :fury: :fury: :fury: :fury:
Hi Cat, As one of the first we ever spoke to in chat we have a great respect for your words of wisdom and will never forget how you helped us when we were newbies. However, we do feel that we have to respond to your thread and express our opinion so here goes. Sometimes people get excited and overcome by their meets and a little gentle bragging doesn't do any harm surely. As a lot of people will know and have seen we play on cam (a lot) and it's not everybody's cup of tea true enough and some may think this is a way of us bragging as such and may disagree with what we do on cam. Sure people must say "here they/she goes again" We enjoy it, we do it because we enjoy it. If people don't like it then they don't have to watch it. The same goes for bragging in chat. if people want to listen to someone bragging and care to respond to it then that's surely up to them, otherwise it can always be ignored. We're sure we've done it ourselves at some point or another. As for some of the newbies, the situation for us has been quite the opposite with some of them pushing way to hard for full on meets before we've had a chance to get to know them. I don't know but maybe because we do play on cam they think we're an easy ticket which is soooo not the case. Friends are important to us as much as the sexual side so I can't say I totally agree with that comment. There are a few idiots in the room lately that I myself roll my eyes skyward at but the idiots always get found out eventually don't they. So stay cool cat hun. Big hugs and love as always. Hi Ceylon, Thanks for the response and, as always, the greatest love and respect! xx Trust me, I do see your point, and I'm definitely not targeting the harmless banter that goes on, and I definitely don't mean you in my post either! I know and like the banter that goes on - believe me, I'm quite penchant to banter myself as you will know, and love to join in! But the post was more aimed at just two or three people guilty of what I tend to call "serial bragging" (ie, only come into the room to brag about their exploits and to show off, and not display much in the way of social skills). It also complains of an approach on newcomers, which has only served to scare them off - sometimes, they've never come back. More to the point, it's actually a unique approach, used by just one person. Hope I've clarified things a bit more - look forward to chatting to you in the room again soon! Love, Cat xx
Cat babes, Of course we know to what and whom you may be referring to and agree with a lot that you have said babes. We do, however respect what others have said as to a wee bit of bragging in the room goes down quite well to keep things alive. Its hard not to when you are excited about a meet you have just had or one thats coming up! :P Unfortunately, we, like you, have found that all peeps do not act in the same way, courtesy and repect being paramount as far as we are concerned. This often, unfortunately, gets swallowed up in the lust factor and there are a few peeps that need to re address this issue big time. Cat you are our great friend, as you say we have so much in common, us guys, its great and we cant wait to get together with you again soon (no brag intended lol) Love you hunni jules and russ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We know exactly what you mean cat. A little bragging is ok, it's more like reminising the meet . I'm sure each and everyone of us is a little guilty of that expecially if the meet has been a good one. We've seen the 'pounce on' effect with newbies a few times and only hope that this thread can help the people guilty of this re-think their approach on new comers. This chat room is the best and friendliest we've been on. We all make the chat room what it is lets keep it that way. love ya's all Hb3 xxxxxxxx
Cat ..... They can't have been that good at bragging , or my titties would have tingled ..hehehe ! only kidding , my dear friend XXX :-? I still say SP chat's the best swingers chatroom ...it takes all sorts / types / attitudes ..to make the world go round .....but only a mutually high libido , for it to swing .. :moon: with the kindest regards ..as always ..Tally XXX P.S ..will the bragging bugga please quit .biggrin
WOW WEEE.... this is one hell of a thread lol.... cat as you say its just one or two in the chat room... why dont you just name them and ask then to stop.. ( in a nice way of course no point being narsty)... Ohhh and it cant be me as i have nothing to brag abt... well maybe just 2 things but then i dont brag i just flash em  MO _ XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Hmmmmm ...... a pretty contentioius topic ..... i love those !! lol xx I appreciate what Cat is saying as i have witnessed this kind of behaviour myself and its almost smacks of elitism and other, not so successful peeps having their noses rubbed in other peeps success - no on likes a braggard i suppose and this will always be the case. Its all just in the way peeps come across i think. This whole malarky should all be about fun - and if its not you are either not doing it right .... or you should stop !! lol xxxx God only knows i may have alluded once or twice to heading off on a meet while chatting in the room - some peeps even have the bare faced cheek to call me a flirt too !! lol - and once peeps have actually met they can then continue to be flirtacious on another more friendly personal level - but just where do you draw the line ?? As Cey said, and in most cases, its just better to ignore certain behaviour unless it is impacting too much on other members etc. All long as its all good fun and no one loses an eye ......... carry on swinging peeps !!! lol biggrin Have fun xxxxxxxxx Post edited 06-02-2007 11:17
Oh ...... and BTW ..... DON'T you dare stop those cam shows Cey - i remember them very fondly and they alone are worth the membership fee !! lol :P Mwah xxxxxx
Yes, this IS one hell of a thread! And I stick by my sentiments entirely! As a multi-reply to a couple of posts, here goes..... "Cat you are our great friend, as you say we have so much in common, us guys, its great and we cant wait to get together with you again soon (no brag intended lol) Love you hunni jules and russ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" You too Jules and Russ! Very special friends indeed, and I can't wait to meet up with you both (again, no brag intended - you are both really good friends who I shall keep in touch with for a long time). Love you lots xxxxxx "cat as you say its just one or two in the chat room... why dont you just name them and ask then to stop.. ( in a nice way of course no point being narsty)..." It's not in my nature to publicly name and shame anyone Mo, however much I may personally despise them. But in the case of the couple I refer to, their pushy and big-headed attitude is also evident in other posts within the various chat forums here, particularly in response to other couples new to the site, or just looking for a meet. I wonder if that couple have noticed this post yet? Do they have a conscience? I think not, because the fact is, they have scared off quite a few couples with their approach and, as far as I am aware, still continue to do so. One such example is a response to a very new post on "Anything Goes", but that's all I shall say for now.........xx "Personally, I don't like people to "brag" about their exploits but, as far as I am concerned, one of the best things about THIS site is the tolerance and friendliness of its members." ...spot on, ur4it! Couldn't have put it better myself! Post edited 06-02-2007 20:28
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh cat i didnt mean name and shame.... that would be crule and hurtfull.. and no matter what someone has done.. no one desirves to be treated in such a way... right im off to look at the rest of forums... only cos im noisey and im making it my mission to find out who u talking abt lmao... all tho i think i have a good idea lol love ya all mwahhhhhhhhhhhhhh MO_
