Hello, I am unable to access this site when logging in via my home P.C. (I am using my work one at the moment- at work) I use firefox normally but am also unable to log in using IE. in my humble opinion it can't be my firewall settings as I am able to access all the other sites I use (porn, swinging etc etc) I have fiddled with so much on my settings now I have no idea what I have done/not done. But still I can't access this site and can access everything else I wish. Please help. splendid
i have had similar probs in the past...... try deleting your cache/temp internet files try deleting all cookies and starting again try a different browser......like slimbrowser or avast....go to download for them and a silly question but are you using norton for your antivirus.......pile of poo that.....found it causes more probs than it prevents
my cache is cleared everytime I log in and out.. as are my cookies.. no to the norton thingie... mmm I shall try downloading the other things. But would that be the problem when I can't access this by either IE or firefox ? surely it must be something like cookies on my p.c. ? I am obviously not entirely sure or I wouldn't be asking.. just trying to apply some sort of logic as I normally am able to resolve all my own p.c. problems. Grrrrrr thanks splendid
try this in firefox tools>options>show cookies/.remove all cookies i know you say yours are automatically deleted but just try doing in manually other than that lord only knows since it aint effecting any other sites you are going to
I did the clean up cookies manually as well as the temp int files too. I also reset my modem to assign a new gateway in case that was the issue. mmm no, you were no help venus...but you are very funny.. and smiles are much needed. Although I am now fiddling more as I can't get in here at night when I should be able to fiddle quite happily whilst viewing cams. (that is what you are supposed to be doing when watching cams isn't it ?) thanks for your help I really appreciate it. anymore ideas ? splendid
Splendid - this is indeed serious news! We need you back on this site xxxx I should be online off and on this afternoon, so if there's anything interactive you want to try (ahem!) give me a shout and we can try to sort you out :-) Suds xxx
Run a traceroute when at home to see whether it sheds any more light. Start > Run > Type in "cmd" without the quotes > click OK. Type: tracert The trace will show 'hops' from your end to the site. If any hops show an asterisk *, this denotes packet loss which can affect the loading of pages. If you can PM me your IP later, I'll check to see whether I can find any thing else. If you are not sure how to find your IP, visit a site like which will tell you.
thankyou Sudsy.. you can't do interactive remember, you have a bad back. Admin- thankyou. I shall attempt to do that when I get home. (although a PM with my IP will be sent tomorrow when I am back in work) miracles do happen.. I just wish they happened with my P.C ! thankyou all again. Splendid
Splendid - you didn't say exactly what DOES happen when you try to get to the site? Does the screen hang? Do you get an error? If so, what?
hiya sudsy, it tells me that the website is not available and advises me to check the address I am using (or words to that effect) x x x
Just a question Splendid. Do you have your PC connected directly to your cable or are you wireless through a Router? Debs x
it is directly connected. I can access the site using my son's mac and he is wireless to the router. thanks splendid
Is it all websites or just this one?? Have you tried the usual stuff run anti virus checked for spyware tried switching your firewall off run scan disc. Logged out delete all cookies type the address in manually not using a bookmarked link. Couple of items found with google try this go to start -> run (or press the windows key + R) then type ipconfig /flushdns A black box will come up for a second or two, after it closes try going to those sites 1. Quit Internet Explorer (if it is running). 2. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options. 3. Click the Advanced tab. 4. Scroll down to the Security section. 5. Clear the Use PCT 1.0 selection. 6. Clear the Use TLS 1.0 selection. 7. Click OK.
Thanks jj. I have done all of those 'usual' things. the runconfig bit I haven't done. But I shall print that out and try it tonight. I have a couple of IT chappies from another site who are looking into it for me too. thanks for your help. splendid
Splendid, its just a thought, but are the following set to HIGH:- Internet Properties,Security & Privacy Tabs. Have you got the latest JAVA & ADOBE downloads, these might have an effect on the accessing the site.
the firewall and all securities are set to medium with this site and other sites included in the allow list. I am not sure of the adobe or java.. but I will look at that tonight. thanks splendid
