It turns out that there have been a lot of lifetime free memberships given out recently and even free memberships for a year to new members.
I find this GROSSLY UNFAIR to all of us serious swingers. Many of these free lifetime memberships have been given out to people who joined the site when it first began. Fine for those serious peeps who have been established many times and have numerous comments, but this act has caused an influx of complete morons into our once happy and fun chatroom. Morons that joined in 2005 but have not been on the site since and have never paid membership fees. They received an email from admin inviting them back to SP for FREE for a LIFETIME.
Not only that but there have also been free memberships offered to newbies.
For those of you who agree with me and think that this is as unfair as I do please note your comments here and vote in my poll.
Our chatroom has been taken over by rude, obscene people who have been given this free membership and many of us chatroom regulars have been harrassed, heckled, directed on cam and have just had general extremely bad behaviour from most of them. Our poor mods who do a thankless job have been working overtime to control these idiots.
THIS IS COMPLETELY UNFAIR AND IT WILL CAUSE MANY SERIOUS PAYING PEEPS TO LEAVE THE SITE IF IT IS NOT DEALT WITH!

However, our current userid has been here long enough to be included in the lifetime free membership (which we never requested, but at the same time we are happy to accept).
As Olivia says, not all the freebies are time wasters and we accept that many returners have become or remained swingers outside this site...:happy:
Yes the chatroom has become a zoo of late, but with time the idiots will become bored, as they have previously and take their immaturity elewhere to play

I left some moths because this site was turning into something that I didn't like and the chat room was being over run by those that think their opinion is the law. Single blokes were becoming a nightmare and I didn't and don't agree with a couple of the choices for new Moderators.
So, we left after a few years good swinging on here.
We are now back after using other sites.
However, after reading this rant..... I'm seriously considering telling SP I don't want it.
Who's to say who is a serious swinger and who isn't. Those of us that have been swingers for years, may be on other sites and 'invisible' to others but it doesn't mean we are anyless 'worthy.'
I don't think it's anyone else's business who got free membership and who didn't.......... a case of sour grapes isn't going to make the 'real' swingers who got free membership feel welcome on here.
I'm an oldie and I know many many people on here....... now I feel that I shouldn't have come back because those that have been on here since I left, now don't want us back.

For clarification, the lifetime memberships went out to those that joined in 2005 or before, free membership for a year is [b]not[/b] given to new members.
has free membership been given to all ppl that joined in 2005 regardless of whether they have ever been fully paid up members of the site at some members have been given free membership even though they have never paid previously for membership then that is clearly a fully paid up member in our 3rd yr on this site i would be disgusted if this was the case
well i ( mr jt ) dont often get involved with the politics of this site. we use it, have a laugh in the chat, meet the odd sexy people and generally obide by all site rules and eticate ( nice spelling lol ).
i fully understand why admin would issue long time members the oppotunity of free membership, people that have used the site and been active in chat, meetings and forums, but what i dont understand is why they have blindly given out free memberships to not just singles, but couples that have never activly given anything to this site. i am not saying that some of these people are not genuine, but a vast majority are not, which has been proven and witnessed by both myself and mrs jt this weekend.
we have been here for 18 months and have never had cause to complain about anyone in the chat room, but this weekend alone we have both felt harrased. and also witnessed personal attacks on people on and off cam.
jels is right, these people will get bored again and leave again, but will it be to late for some of the members here that enjoy chatting and flirting in the appriorote way, before we up sticks and leave.
as i say, i aint asking for a free membership, just respect from admin.

Well!!! we have been here for over a year and pay every month ... before that we were on other sites and paid there too. We as a couple haven't been on as much over the last few weeks, but have contributed quite a fair bit to the chatroom, forums and socials and I (debs) can only say I'm glad I have missed all this nonsense going on. I totally agree with what the good people above have said and you guys have my (our) support. Maddie hun I'm sure no one would begrudge you a free membership as I remember you contributing more than your fair share here ... and frankly you are right on a couple of other points too. I think things will settle down again and maybe once again we will use the site more frequently .... it's not right that anyone should have to put up with idiots behaving like imbeciles and no of course I don't aim that at good genuine new or more established people .. but it isn't just the newbies or fake profiles that cause bother, we ourselves have had to bite our tongue when someone on a power trip thought it was funny to take the p**s out of the way I am on cam .... what goes around comes around as they say lol xxx

Right a bit about me then I first got into tinternet swinging in 2005 I joined a couple of sites one was a paysite the other was free back then but is now owned by the people who own this site. Then someone recommended I try here, which I duly did and had a good look around. Then decision time do I pay the subscription or not and as I was an still am on a tight budget it never got paid, I just spent more time on the free site. I currently have membership on few sites under the ID of Tricky Dicky. I may even have met one or two of you via those sites.
Please don't assume just because I've been fortunate enough to receive premium membership that I'm going to be a moron an a time waster, get to know me first then judge me as an individual.
Hoping to making some new friends and meeting interesting people.

I'm putting my head above the parapet here but I'm one of the beneficiaries of the new offer. Worse still, I'm a single bloke but hopefully not one of the ugly soundin' type who're causing all thr trouble.
I took free membership in 2005 but found I couldn't communicate with a soul so it all looked pretty futile back then, so I quickly forgot about the site and got on with my conventional sex life.
Having received the email last week I was surprised at how generous it seemed but not being one to look a gift horse etc, I took up the offer and am delighted to see I can now chat with people the way I would have wanted to back in 2005. That said, there are things I can't do that are advertised as Extras. Perhaps fully paid up members get these for free from now on? Either way, it doesn't take a genius to work out that a large quotient of this new influx will be single men, and as most men are indeed complete and utter bumholes, many of these will be immature knobs of the very highest order. But please, and I;m sure you all know this, we male singletons aren't all like that.
I for one am really excited by the offer and genuinely do want to explore the options. I'm not even sure I could ever go through with a meet if the opportunity ever arose, but I don't know that so it'll be interesting to find out something new about myself.
All I can advise is that you keep reporting any harrassment or abuse you find ASAP. As for any grievance you may have over the unfairness of the offer, take that up with Admin and see what they say. It's certainly revatilised my interest in this site and the scene in general, but I understand your grievances. Good luck.

Admin you need to understand that the the whole paysite system offers some sort of security against chancers and idiots ruining the site for everybody else. All you've done is open the flood gates! Well said Sid_n_Nancy - and Oli, good point in the first place.
I've been on this site since 2005. I'm fuming that I, and I'm sure many other people, who would like to feel that we have contributed significantly to the site in various ways since we joined are not being offered anything, yet those who joined briefly many moons ago and have not been back since are effectively being handed £50.
I know there are plenty of long-standing regular members who have been rewarded too (Jels, for instance) and that seems perfectly fair. Having said all that, though, I think the whole reward concept was flawed and badly thought-through. As Sid_n_Nancy rightly pointed out, the payment system was a very useful filter to weed out those who were serious and those who weren't. We've now lost that for another 12 months.

(Oh, and I know of at least one couple who have been awarded the free membership who have been on here only as long as I have. I don't mind - they're great, and they deserve it, but it DOES seem inconsistent!)

No I have not seen any of these emails but I was told about them from people who had received them.
I hope people have not misunderstood my grievance. I am in no way asking for a free membership myself and I am in no way saying that all of those who have received this are timewasters. I have noticed that this has enticed back many of the original members that were once very active on this site and contributed a great deal - and I consider this a good thing. I am also glad for those peeps who have received this offer who have contributed so much to this site.
My grievance was how this process was managed. I did chat to a guy in the chatroom last night who got the free membership and he told me that when he joined the site back when it began he might have only ever logged on maximum 10 times and never paid any membership fees then. He has never met anyone from SP so is neither an established member nor has any comments. So this is what I disagree with - the selection process.
I am not saying that all of those who fit the criteria above are non-serious swingers, but there should have been some sort of criteria set for peeps in order to qualify for this free membership offer. This would have at least weeded out most of the morons and idiots that I have come across the last few days.
So thank you to the comments from those who have had this offer - you guys do sound genuine and my rant was most definitely not aimed at you in particular.
I also agree with people when they say that these timewaster idiots will eventually get bored and will disappear... I just hope it is sooner rather than later so our beloved chatroom can get back to normal.

I have to say i got the free lifetime membership also, but on my old account from when i was a couple. I know alot of you are thinking 2005, my goodness she dont look that old well you know yes i was about way back then.
I have to agree i dont think it is fair that many of the people have paid fully for the past 2-3 years are not getting an incentive, but then not everyone can be pleased.
I left the site for a while due to personnal reasons but never cancelled the account hence why i think i got the mail, and yes i did take the offer up. Why not? im entitled to it as much as anyone else.
It also means if no-one wants to talk in chat i can talk to myself now :):)

you have to remember that what the site has done will also make them money. Most of these people will not have come back to the site as fully paid members. But since giving them the chance to and limiting it with the fact they are not getting the extras. People will pay for this to give them full access to the site and therefore make the site money. So in a way they have done it in there best interest, and to be honest it you ran a business then you would do the same thing.

As I said in my later post above, this was definitely a good way to get some of the older members back to the site and I have seen many of them welcomed in the chatroom. My issue is not with these people or with you.
I do understand both your points of view but if you were to re-visit the chatroom you would see what a complete zoo it has become lately.
