We posted a thread a few weeks ago, about the problems with the chatroom.
Can an administrator please reply to this thread and explain why we are constantly having this problem every few days?
We can go a couple of days and everything is fine – no problems. On the other side of this, are the few days where the room either freezes or doesn’t load at all.
This isn’t good enough.
It obviously isn’t the pc, as why would it work one day and then not work the next.
It seems that a lot of people are leaving – for their own reasons. Perhaps Admin or whoever, should pull their finger out and start to actually do something about the p**s poor service that they are offering at the moment.
People are paying money for, what appears to be, a non-existent service, ie – stopping the abuse, and basically providing a site that works AT ALL TIMES.
The people taking the membership fees seem to have adopted a “take the money and run†attitude.
Again – This isn’t good enough.
Do something about it please.

Many people have bad days with any site, while everyone else has no problems at all, which suggests that its actually not the room.
It crashes every now and again sure, but all sites do, some fire walls cause issues, and I know windows Vista does too.
I know this doesnt help your situation, but the problem may be your end guys, sorry

Unfortunately, we have to disagree on the problem being at our end. We don’t have any problems with any other site, and never have. If it was a firewall issue, then it wouldn’t work one day and then not the next.
And yes, sites do crash - we can accept that.
Also we are not alone in having this problem. We have spoken to quite a few people on here, and they suffer the same symptoms.
Another thing is, that when we can’t access the chatroom, and go to the Chatroom Help page, it says “Page cannot be found†error).
You can understand, that this is a bit frustrating.
We have been on site over 3 years and seldom experienced issues with chatroom. We run a couple of PC's with 2gb ram and fast processors, plus only 300m from exchange and get full 8mb DSL with little erroring. Maybe we have been lucky and dont get isolated crashes or malfunctions, just the major ones!!...xx

we think close the chatroom for a while , then peeps can calm down and all get back to bein nice to one-another or maybe get more mods

Three new mods were recruited or appointed (whatever you want to call it) last week. Whilst the volume of mods may help ease some of the issues with chat room abuse, it will not stop people from abusing in a more covert way if that is what they want to do.
It is up to everyone to challenge poor behaviour and let mods and admin know when issues arise that are directly within the control of the site.
If you don't tell us we can't help to fix it.

The chatroom runs on a flash media server (FMS), so when you enter a flash application is downloaded to your PC and it communicates with the FMS, if there's any break in communication between your PC and our FMS then you get disconnected, the communication is carried out via RTMP (real time messaging protocol), now its not unknown for ISP's to bugger about with or place restrictions on RTMP in their efforts to reduce the amount of bandwidth you use, not so long back Tiscali were blocking all of this during peak times and we saw a lot of people complaining as they couldn't get into chat.
Over the last week I've noticed an increase in the number of people having disonnection problems, at our end server configuration and chatroom configs shouldn't have changed, but we have our sysadmin and chat developer running checks.
The issue with these disconnection problems is that they appear to be random and we haven't been able to reproduce it, but we do know that they are happening and we are investigating.
In the meantime, there are a number of things that can cause problems with chat;
Firewalls being one, try turning them off for a short period, if the problem goes, turn them back on and try changing the settings.
Temporary internet files, delete them just in case there's an old cached version of the chat application in there and do a reboot.
The original poster mentioned a broken link, what page does that appear on as it needs fixing.

One other thing worth mentioning is that the reports I've had from all other people experiencing this issue had one thing in common, they were all using BT, this may be a red herring but its worth asking the question, which ISP are you using?
Hiya. I don,t have a clue about comps & all the stuff every1 is going on about I'm using the oldest BT 1 meg router u have ever seen & don't seam 2 have much trouble. But u2 are only 10miles away so if you need 2 use a comp your more than welcome 2 come here & use mine sometime..lol
