At the end of the day you can only make of this site what you will. [color="red"]You get out what you put in as the going says[/color]. You cant expect to get along with everyone and everything. By moaning about the site and its members you are being disrespectful to the genuine ones who are here and dont deserve it.
I have never quite got why peeps post that they are thinking of leaving .................just go if you want to go. I would rather walk out of the door quietly than walk out ranting and slamming the door. The only thing I can think of is that it is attention seeking and ' Look at me/us please tell us to stay cos we need to know we are indispensible and cherished and life will not be the same again in here if we leave'

Having been here a long time on and off, this thread happens regularly in slightly different ways but its still the same sayinng the site has changed. Nothing ever stays the same in this world things to change.
Crystals I love you guys loads and you have been there on fb to talk to.... In my opinion if you think there is more fun to be had on the othger site go for it and enjoy. You can always re join here if it doesnt work out. People come and go and friendships change. If that didnt happen how boring would life be.
I think the chatroom can be fun when there are very few folk in there tbh. It depends who the people are. It can be full of folk and noone talks. Or there can be a handful and everyone is chatting.
Well thats me done now. And wont be posting for much longer as have cancelled our paid subs ( not much point really as too far away and etc etc )

Hey Ceylon i agree with you i find the chatroom sometimes very boring i have more fun on fb how sad is that one or two on here seem to be up there own Arse. But i cant be to harsh still some gr8 peeps about and yes if you put more effort in you will get more out i find it goes round in cycles you spend all ur time on site love it get bored slag it off come back love it thats the nature of the beast.
Ok... before this escalates into something it was never intended to be, it has to be pointed out that this particular thread was put into the category marked "Anything Goes! An area for conversations or rants about anything you like."
With reference to Oliviak, it was not our intention to come across as moaners, whingers or anything of the like but we are certainly entitled to put across our thoughts (as many others have and probably will again) without being told to stop whinging.
Now we certainly don't want to get too defensive either but it also has to be pointed out that as a "longer time member" (of over three years continious membership) who possibly owes it to the site to help make it a better place for all, we have already organised one successful meet in Leeds this year; are in the early stages of planning another meet next year and successfully managed to lobby admin into introducing the traffic light activity system (which we notice many people have chosen to take up). We are doing our little bit to help keep the interest and fun going for everyone!
As such, its totally unfair for anyone to say stop whinging and make us feel as though we are speaking out of turn here when the original good intention was to throw out there - in the "anything goes" forum - our thoughts on why the site could be in a malaise... or a trough... or a down point at this point in time. Now some may, and indeed do, appear to feel the same way. Others may disagree but that's why forums are there.
The chatroom is just one aspect of this thread but it is only one aspect. Feedback from mails sent and messages received; activity in the forums and the seemingly pointless Groups category all make us feel as though somehow... or someone... or something needs to happen or more and more people will feel disilusioned with the site and more people will leave.
Sudsy and Ceylon are absolutely right though. The site has had many ups and downs over the years. I just can't remember the last time it lasted this long.
Ok... now I've REALLY opened myself up to feedback, let the criticisms flow...

If you throw things out there for response - you get a response - which was what you wanted? So some people proffered different opinions - some of which you agree with - some you dont. But. It doesn't solve anything or change anything. It's just an airing of views simple as.
I've been coming on this site on and off since 2005 and there have always been peaks and troughs. I left in the memorable trough of May 06. And I came back.
It's what happens.
The mailing thing is something that a lot of people seem to be disgruntled about. I think from a personal point of view I am more favourable to be mailed from someone I clicked with in chat rather than a spontaneous mail drop.
I say again though - chill - it's supposed to be fun - if it's stopped being fun - stop doing it.
and... back to dancing!

I think it does to a lot of us Midgie, yeah - OK so it's not life or death, but it is frustrating / sad when something you used to enjoy a lot changes in a way that you see as being negative, and I think that's what Crystal were saying (stop me if I'm wrong guys!).
I think they're also right that there's absolutely no harm in questioning why this site might be suffering more than others appear to be (and again, I think that's what the aim of the thread was supposed to be ...), especially when you do so in the context of a forum that's designed for exactly that sort of thread.
All I'd say, Crystal, is that I agree things have changed recently, but I disagree that leaving is the only option left. Please stick around and help the rest of us to get this site back on track.
We can all raise questions and suggest answers AND carry on dancing at the same time !

Suds We thought about all this in the last few days, even thought of leaving, the friends we have actually had meets with have left but are still in contact. We have just had our first social (notts). Said hello to , Rosie,CC, Montyjesse, Oli, Seds, Abend, Dawnandbruce, Ceylon who i nearly blinded with me glasses sorry hun xx, Sudsy winked at eve :lol, oh and not to forget Jels, who settled our nerves, sorry if we have forgot your names but it was great to meet you all at last. Took us two and a half years to pluck up the courage. We go into the chatroom all the time, when we have time!! Yes it is often very quiet. We decided to re evaluate why we are here. Well its in the hope that we can have some good chat, maybe some sexy chat, seduce the fook outta someone.....enough to make em want to fook us silly before we get really oogly and wrinkly. I've put suggests forward as well, as other people have. And I've had the occasional mini-rant. I can see the faults in the site but... well Ill put forward a suggestion but it isn't going to keep me awake at night or make me go overly ranty-rant-rant......
i think people get annoyed at the site because they aren't pulling or achieving what they want. That's not necessarily the sites fault. I'm here to div around and I have very low (ie nil) expectations, it just wiles away the quiet times - and I pull loads! :rascal: Don't take it so seriously and you're more likely to get what you want!

:happy::happy::happy::happy::happy::happy::happy::happy: I dont know what to say, everytime I go in chatroom there b 40 maybe 50 people there and only 2 or 3 chat normally midgie who talks n talks n talks n talks n talks, however there are a lot of newbies and the way I see it is we gotta bring em out of there shells, if you think back to your first visit in the room where everyone seems to know everyone (due to the ever popular socials) then it is a bit daunting to jump into a conversation and be heard, I for one do my best to say hello to everyone and try get some form of conversation out of them, we shouldnt be sat here moaning and whinging we should be making the effort to encourage newbies and thus the site will improve so to those who whine n dine in the forums I say get ya ass in chatroom and make a difference!!! DEL!!!

Yes .... Some people on the thread here have made my mind up within days.
Not coming on here anymore.

Sorry but a couple of people have highlighted exactly what I am fed up of.
For the few who actually thought about constructively helping us (including Suds!!!), thank you for taking the time to do so. For the few that are my personnal friends sorry to leave you like this and no doubt you will be quizzing me!!
