 Agree with everything that lillyandchad have said.
What we want to know is how our profile, word for word, and our pics get onto fab swingers site without our knowledge or approval.
I cannot answer that as we have nothing to do with that site, we will look into it though.
You know what, we've been members of this site for four years (ish) and not once has anyone ever pointed at us in the street and shouted "SWINGERS!".
Also we find security in the fact that anyone who recognises you in here has to first admit they've been perving in a swingers site before they can accuse you of anything! lol :bs::doh:
sorry, but i stick by what i said. HOW CAN U GET IN TROUBLE? even if ur a teacher or whatever, its not against the law to have sex. ive never heard of anyone getting in trouble for having a profile on a swingers site...
Pacha just think about it ok. Just say your a teacher and some parent finds out that their teacher is a swinger. It is very understandable that they may feel that the person is not the best role model for their child. Parents talk to another parent and soon it spreads. The head then has a private word in the teachers ear about the uproar. If the perents loose respect in the teacher I dont recon that person will have a job anymore. Yes pacha a person sex life is their own business but dont expect that the average person on the street would understand. They would probably label it as inappropriate behaviour.
People in general I feel want their kids role model to be a person of good morels and a stable life. I have to admit that once a label has been put on a teacher (for example) as some kind of sick person who has sex with numerous partners and not just their partner, dont think they will be well respected anymore do you?
We all have to think of what could happen if our private lives get out and get twisted.
Sorry rant over
we are with pacha on this self employed with a good business reputation and vyner is a health care professional. we are not ashamed, having casual sex IS NOT A CRIME. we dont use prostitutes, do drugs or harm anyone. yea keep your faces out of the pics, but only if your ugly ( lol ) we cant belive there are people out there who search these sites to "out" they do so what ? xxxxxxxxxxxxx
Well, a final word on this from me (for what it's worth)...
Clearly there are 2 very different camps here, and I have no problem with the point of view of each. I do wish, though, that the "We aren't worried" camp would at least try to appreciate that not everyone shares their view, and could have very real reasons for not doing so.
People's perception of privacy is a very personal thing, and I think anyone has a right to protect it as much as possible if they so wish.
As several of us have already pointed out, all this thread was intended to do was to make people aware of the facts, so that they could make up their own minds whether or not it bothered them. Clearly, it bothers some and not others. That's hardly a surprise in a website that caters for such a wide and varied cross-section of the population.
Fom a technical perspective, since free members can see profiles (and I think this is valuable, as when you're trying to decide whether or not to join the site it's useful to be able to browse it first) then so can the programs that populate Internet Search databases, such as Google's. The issue of other sites having access is slightly different, assuming they can see more than any free member browsing the site directly could? That would need looking at by Admin.
Best advice if you're at all worried about publicity seems to be to restrict your face pics to your private gallery.

oh, and can someone explain to me what a 'proffessional' job is? is that the opposite of an un-professional one...?:haha:
I said PROFESSION pacha there's no comparison between what people perceive as a professional job or not is there.
I think the point that people are trying to make is that should pictures and profile be seen by work colleagues or friends and family it could become highly embarrassing for them.
Mr C
what made u think i was quoting you? i was making the point about people who dont put pics up because they have a 'professional' job...it means nothing, they are just trying to attach importance to themselves. and its normally the overweight not so good looking ones who use this excuse to get away from putting pics on their profile...
anyway, i dont care about what people think,
anyway, i dont worry about what people think, if they dont like it then tough. its probably because they arent swinging....
i take great offence at those comments. BANG OUT OF ORDER .i do care what people think particularly my family . what id still like to know is why and how my profile is on another site??? i have never heard of.
id like to change my room name and take my pics off the site. admin can you help pls
pacha i noytice that you have the discription of professional dancer and ... the words at the top of your profile WE ARE NOW ESTABLISHED MEMBERS . now if thats not attaching self importance what is . any way this is about discretion and i am only intrested in discovering why my profile has been hijaced. admin ????? any answers???
What a ridiculous debate this is.
This is not about morals or ethics, or how someone 'should' or should not think.
It is not necessary or unavoidable to make the profile page available on google or any other search engine.
Some people, paying customers, care about it.
So don't allow it.
well i have just looked through the said site and i have founf 4 profiles that are almost identical to mine . i know thay were and are mine . is it right to take some one elses profile?? no its not .

sexybbwpinny (27 !!!!!! im flatterd but hell i dont look 27 lol)
and
pinny
these are on the eswing site have a look tell me im not loosing me marbles folks.
I am really glad that seds has brought this to light.....
Although i am not embarrassed by what i enjoy, i certainly wouldn't the entire British population knowing about it, its nothing to do with the job i do, its purely for the sake of my children and my family, they are somewhat prudish when it comes to sex (ha ha )
As for the pics being available for non members i think that so long as the face isn't in view then that's OK i don't have a problem....
i can fully understand others having to be extremely careful about being recognised due to the sensitivity of their jobs......
:fuckinghell:I agree with bibi on this in that I take great offence at the judgemental comments made by pasha:fury:
Why do you think professional people are only trying to make themselves important on a site like this? And what grounds have you to label them all 'fat & ugly'? I removed my pics because they were all face shots; I'm not prepared to take the risk of any of my patients, friends, or family of seeing me on SP. As Fruit has already tried to explain, along with others, it is about privacy and sensitivity; most people regarding swinging as a form of infidelity whether both partners consent or not, which, in itself, colours their view.
Perhaps all men don't have your physique, but, then again, they also won't have your intellect either and can see things from more than one angle, thus having better perception of the risks involved.
You are entitled to your opinion, but to make such crass comments about people is totally unecessary; but as you dont' care what others think about you I doubt this makes any difference:mad:
Doc,
We could'nt have said it better, we wanted to say much the same but could not find a polite way of putting it, well done !!!

This is annoying me now. "we're not worried"! Because we've taken every precaution to protect ourselves on this site, even down to our user name. Our old name came straight back to here in a google search so we changed it, funnily enough Morkandmindy doesn't!
As for photos going public, isn't the option private or PUBLIC a big enough clue??????
Think of it from a business point of view. A new potential member stumbles across this site, they can't use the forums, they can't mail anyone, they can't use the chatroom and they can't see any pictures! Who's going to join a site like that????
It is not this sites responsibility to protect you from being discovered.
If you're worried, change your profiles, names, text etc And make your pictures private!
OK ADMIN--THIS A DISGRACE --SO MUCH FOR A PRIVACY POLICY. GREAT IF YOU CAN DRIVE A BUS THROUGH YOUR SECURITY _ PLEASE GET IT FIXED PDQ. WHY ARE THE PAGES NOT PROTECTED AGAINT TRAWLERS??? BLOCK IT IMMEDIATELY PLEASE. NO EXCUSES SO MUCH FOR TUSTING PEOPLE?
Thank you seds well spotted!

Mork / Mindy - not sure why you're getting annoyed with what I wrote? I thought I'd tried to take the calm, measured view. Perhaps not ... Oh well, you can't please everyone.
I agree, and said as much, that non-members had to be allowed to view the profiles in order to know whether or not they wanted to join the site. I also said that the best advice seemed to be to put all your face pics in a private gallery. We seem to agree with each other!
By the way, just for accuracy, "MorkandMindy" does get picked up by Google.
We also just checked google and morkandmindy were there, clicked on their name and went straight to their profile/pic page

Not you specifically Sudsy, it was just a good quote from the general argument to pick up on.
So it does, in a UK only search it's about the twentieth listing. Now link our profile back to who we are????
Our point is protecting yourselves from friends, family, neighbours, colleagues etc. Is your responsibility. Not the sites.
People are posting Naked pictures of themselves in all sorts of compromising situations on The Internet, The World Wide Web! if they want to leave their faces clearly identifiable then more fool them.
I think we now need to draw a line under this. We have said our bit mainly and slightly dissagreed with others opinions. But in general we do agree that we all need to be careful as was pointed out it is the World Wide Web. I cant imagine anyone wants our private lives splashed all over the papers in any form or used as a weapon against us or our families in any way. Thanks to everyone for bringing this to our attention and now we hopefully will take the adequate steps to protect ourselves if we want to or not if we dont care in any form.
Why dont we now get back to being careful and start a new thread for something stupid like Bring back your favourite kids programme, personally I loved Mr Ben and Trumpton. lol
Mr Ben and Trumpton?
Pretty sure they're members in here! lol
Didnt they leave a comment a short while ago lol ( sorry lol)
omg mr ben is my builder and i have chums on trumpington rd.
by the way WELL SAID DOC . LETS HAVE MORE COMMON SENCE :clap
ooooo fruit you thing you i just recognised that snogger you have in pic lololololo say hi to him for me xxxx lol

Bibi mmmm isnt he your mail and was going to address him about it this weekend but he has had a family crisis so will very soon get back to you xxxxxx
omg this is sooooooooooooo wrong. I hope my mum doesnt type 1998 ffs this needs sorted. How can this big big mistake happen.
I might even think of cancelling my membership over that.
ok so now this has really pissed me off i want to change my user name and im getting billed for it. Im I alone in this comment. yes seren im with u hunni, its not being imbarrassed about being a swinger is about ur mum or dad or sis and brothers finding out, or family friends above the 18 bracket.
1998 Absolutely staggered that you should be billed for changing your user name especially under these circumstances. Rather than helping, this site just seems to want to make even more money, if this site protected its members this problem would not have arrisen.
