Hi guys, Ray is a computer repair engineer and has come up with the notion that no way is he the only computer man on this site, maybe we should keep this thread up to date with all you other techies out there. That way members can have their systems fixed by people who are into the same scene and that way PC world don't get to see all your sexy stuff. Just a thought, anyone need help around Sheffield area then give us a mail and we'll help best we can, no strings of course just doing friends a service to help out. Ray & Kath
Ray/Kath,Brilliant idea, just helping in the chat room is a bonus sometimes,I lnow helped others in the xxx :bounce::clap:
Really good idea Ray n Kath. We remember a year or so back when we needed an engineer and nearly passed out at the prospect of calling out a local engineer lol. Luckily for us we knew a PC bod from here who came and sorted it all for us, but they are no longer on this site. So anyone on here who repairs computers in the Essex area, your presence would be gratefully noted lol ceylons
I could do with someone in the North London area myself. The j k l ; keys have stopped working on my lappy! Grrrr have plugged in a keyboard at the mo but I am sure like some other peeps am worried about what a technician would find on here! madeye:
Excellent idea..... I am in a similar position that I broke my sreen and darent take it in to be mended. My position as a single mum tho means even if I was brave enough to take it into be repaired, I dont in anyway have the finances to afford repairs. So to know a friend who will try to help with no strings, is help that is one of a kind. Kind samaritans like those people who will stop to help someone with a flat tyre just to help someone. So any more good samaritans put your name down now. Fruit xxx
is the screen broken on a laptop fruit? if so they're usually very expensive to repair depending on make/model... i can find out for you if you want me to, mail me the make/model no. etc Ray
Yes I managed to put my thumb through it and then had a very nice leaf pattern on after this it stopped working at all. So I ended up claiming on my insurance to get another one! Now have a comp with pics, emails etc.... and dont want to bin it encase someone can somehow open it up and view everything on it lol. Thanks for the offer tho hunny. I need to create a back up disc tho as this lappy didnt come with one. Am frightened to do it tho as dont know what it will do to the comp and what would happen if I do it wrong!! This is where having an other half helps so even if I do it there is someone for me to cry on if it all goes wrong lol Fruit xx
mail me your number fruity and i'll call you and help you out one way or another xx ray & kath

Model number if possible.. If the keys on your laptop feel stiff when you press them and don't return to their original position it will probably be that you have spilt something sticky on your keyboard - what the hell do you do with your laptop!! Or it was wine??.. To clean keys on a laptop will require you to remove the keys... Only take one off and ensure you work out how to put it back on before removing more. you then need a cotton bud and a small amount of cleaning fluid (tiny amount - alcohol based if possible) to loosen the gunk.. Be careful... If the key looks like its depressed (and has no spring in it), then the spring that holds them in position has broken... If you tell me what kind of laptop you have, I might be able to get one for you... You will have to remove the key, and replace the spring with the new one (very fiddly).... Hope this helps.. DD
ehhhhhhhhhh the manual, first job, go look for that. xxx
Any luck?
Nah none as yet. Im useless, cant find the manual. I think i may just have to footer about with the leads at the back. xxx
thats a great idea guys we will avail ourselves of your services sometime as you are soooo near to us .[i]
Nah none as yet. Im useless, cant find the manual. Easy peasy. Well, that bit is. :bounce:
