A quick rant about the speed of the video lounge.
On a Friday and Saturday night it almost locks up due to the volume of traffic.
Shouldn't the site owners invest in their hardware and software to cope with demand or are they too busy swigging champagne in Monaco to care
not really, because any hardware that the owners would buy would only be compatible with the latest computers so it would run just as slow for your computer. My computer lets the chat room run just fine because my computer is new!!
but they should make a non-video enabled chat room for those with 'shit' computers
There is an option in the menu bar at the top to clear the chat screen.
Whenever the room starts to run a little slow just clear the screen.
It's not hardware that is the problem otherwise the whole site would run slowly. Besides, they have already upgraded the servers once IIRC. The problem is with the chatroom software and it is being worked on.
the chaps at admi are very good at working on things . and rather efficient at it if i may say so. :clap:
when im in chat everythin is fine it all runs smoothly never had a problem yet.
but sometimes if ive been in there a while my cam freezes and chat is slow but i just do what mandcd said which is clear the chat and hey presto its fine.

The site chat room runs on flash communication server we have the best licence with the highest number of connections (unlimited). This alone was 7K, on top of this we have spent a bucket of cash on the actual chat room licence and the development of it. This is even before we talk about our load balaced servers and the pipe they sit on.
