Can anyone throw some light on some difficulties we're having with the chatroom please?
We were unable to get in at all yesterday (grey screen). In the evening we gained access temporarily although chat was freezing constantly and then crashed completely. Now we can't get into chat at all again. This is happening on both our laptop and our desktop. We've run all the diagnostic tests and even re installed flash player. The diagnostics did show that there was an H T T P tunnelling problem, whatever this means.
Any help would be gratefully received, thanks.

got the same prob here not get into chat yesterday and again this morning.i have the same problem on the sister site swinging heaven as well but i can access all the other site chat rooms we are members of so i guess sh and sp use the same servers and the problem is with these anyone been able to access chat ?????????????
ok ran a check on my computer and the top 3 things passes but tunelling default and 80 failed ????????? i have no idea whatsoever what this meens so any help would be for going to contact us and getting a support ticket i tryed that and clicked on the link and nothing ??????????? .getting very frustrated here and very annoyed i know we are not the only ppl having probs with chat so can the powers that be sort this problem out asap

Thanks Debs, yeah we raised a support ticket marked urgent with Admin yesterday, but still no reply from them.
Pleasures, exactly the same result as we are getting. Admin can we get this sorted please as we've been having problems for well over 24 hours now? 
hi cey babes mwahhhhh,we had the same prob and must admit admin acted very swiftly regarding the prob and it turned out to be the firewall i was using blocking a port needed by the chatroom,we are by no means experts but thought we would put our bit only to help you hun,love ya as always ,Kat and Neil xxxxx
Yes we too have been cast into the void that is "the Grey Room", if anyone can answer this perplexing problem, and give a satisfactory answer, ie: one that fixes the problem properly, then theres a delux BJ from Jugs as the prize!
Does anyone else feel a little "peeved" by this problem? We have 2 fully paid up full memberships on this site and cannot access the chat room on either! Value for money? We think not.
Can I suggest that anyone having problems tries deleting all cookies on the computer? I've had this problem in the past, and deleting cookies helped.
If you don't know how to do this, there's a very useful free utility that I use a lot called CleanUp (no, it isn't mine, so this isn't a plug 
), which can be found on the internet. Just search for "clean up" - it's the first thing Google finds normally, and is written by a guy called Steven Gould.
This will delete any cookies (plus lots of other unnecessary stuff on your PC).

Thanks very much Sudsy although we did all that and still had no joy grrr.
I have found out though through the grapevine that anyone who uses America Online will have the problem (just one example of why we are changing providers next week I guess) Apparently they have been inundated with customers who use chatrooms complaining and are working on on the problem to get normal service reinstated. Guess we will all have to be patient until this happens

:kiss: Hi Ceylon Hun we are withbut we can get on TWO other swinging sites chat rooms but still not on here we have been told swinging Heaven have bought swinger personals and both sites are having problems think it may be an over load if this is true, But we may never know if Admin don't reply to Sudsy we have done the cookie thing but still in the dark also our favourites list said that friends of ours were in the chat room last night we phoned them to see how they had got in their and they said they have not been on the site all day so whats that all about lying machine so still open for help.

Hi guys.. sorry if your wondering why no reply to support tickets.. admin are usually office hours only.. so may be a reason.. sorry guys but am sure that the guys that service the.. err servers are trying to resolve the problem as soon as possible. Tecchie things can happen I guess tho we appreciate how frustrating it is.

both sites have always been owned by the same people so i would guess they will both be using the same server.........and dont forget that only a week or so ago they posted in the forum that they were trying to update the server with a new one, coud be awkward if they are using one sited in the states or somewhere if admin are based in uk......and of course since they keep office hours they will not know theres a problem at night til they get in in the morning....seen this problem at a dif site.....one solution would be if mods had a way of contacting admin.....a moby number to txt for example.....then they could get hold of them at any time......normally all it takes is the server rebooting/resetting

Ok,. prepare to be overwhelmed by geekiness, but for those who really give a shit, here it is:
"Tunneling" provides a means to bypass firewalls that block certain Internet services.
In terms specifically relating to the SP chatroom (which I have absolutely NO in depth knowledge of, so admin will tell me if I'm wrong about this), the chatroom traffic on the SP website is encapsulated within a protocol, thus "fooling" the acting firewalls into thinking that the data going back and forth is harmless (it IS harmless, but your firewall doesn't know this - which is why it gets encapsulated within which is usually always (unless specifically told otherwise) considered harmless by your firewall). Tunneling in this way also prevents the data traffic from being monitored and logged, say, if you were chatting from a workstation at school or work.
This procedure commonly uses Port 80 - which is generally used by web servers and for web browsing. Hope this explains your error message, Pleasures.
Long story short - it's a problem at the server end, not yours, and will be fixed soon.
