i must say i ( sandi ) love a geordie accent mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

We're welsh and have a valleys accent not the vastly different cardiff twang. We both like the southern irish accent along with the geordie one .... but hey it's the people that count
Like serens said, it's the person that counts, but I have to admit to liking the old BBC RP accent. Nothing like a touch of posh totty. :lick:

Well I'm a 'Yam Yam' ! Mek yow sen comfy n 'ong yow coot up ! Dazza
Moaning does it for me! :bounce:
The dead centre of England is in Leicestershire actually True! And surely, unless you use perfect received pronunciation, then you must have an accent. I like all accents as long as they aren't too strong. Actually, I don't much like the Leicester one! Ellie xxxxxx
Moaning does it for me! :bounce:
.............. well for me it has to be the French accent...haw hee haw :hunk:.....was hoping Mr MWM would learn French so he could practice on me :haha::haha:....... I guess I will have to learn how to moan in Spanish. :giggle::giggle:
ahhh but true they have done a geographical measuring study that puts the land on a pin (obviously virtually) and Leics does come out as the balancing point.:giggle: i am with you on the Leics accent, Ellie- lived there for seven years and it is not my fave lol However, i love all accents because they are a part of someone's personality. They reflect what/who you are etc., to a certain extent. As for myself i am a chameleon- my accent fluctuates and depends on who i am with. I assume this is due to moving around a lot and having to 'fit in' when younger. (Also might have something to do with not sounding English when i went 'home' to Belfast with my mother for safety reasons - was actually cornered at the age of 4 on way to shops with an older cousin and forced to 'speak english, wee girl'- very scary in 1970!!! :grinsmile When left alone it is a fairly accentless (although there really is no such thing) home counties therefore assumed to be fairly posh by most. Rosie
The sexiest accent is Joanna Lumley-ish. Or Selina Scott-ish. Or Mrs Ci-ish Mr. Ci.
true, this is straight off wikipedia: Fenny Drayton (formerly Drayton-in-the-Clay) is a village in Leicestershire in the district of Hinckley and Bosworth. It is on the A444 road north of Nuneaton close to its crossroads with the A5 (the Roman road called Watling Street). The village is also crossed by another Roman Road. The Ordnance Survey state that the nearby Lindley Hall Farm at SP362964 is the centre point of England. and with regard to accents, being from the centre of a country doesnt mean you have no accent, or even that its some kind of average or base accent of that country, its to do with settlers and conquerers to particular areas of accents and even things things to do with sounds that their own language requires (like with the whelsh accent) do you suppose people in the centre of south africa have no accent? or perhaps that their accent has traces of dutch and afrikaan? Rudyard Kipling.....did make exceedingly good cakes sexy True, me favs were fondant fancies!!! rotflmao:rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao::rotflmao:

Oh come on its written by Americans ffs! Those people think Rudyard Kipling is that guy who makes exceedingly good cakes and Aberdean is a bloke who likes Swedish 70s pop music
Ok this was written by someone English on the BBC website.. The nation's chief mapping agency, the Ordnance Survey, has calculated the exact centre of England to be on Lindley Hall Farm, owned by the Farmers. To be precise, it puts the centre at grid reference SP A global positioning system, which uses satellites to locate exact co-ordinates, showed this point to be in a paddock just a couple of hundred metres from the Farmer's house My favourite accent would probably have to be Welsh. Nancy x
Come and talk to us nancy .... tidy like
I don't have an accent..........boo hiss Although I apparently sound a bit like Joanna Lumley. Perfectly pronounced speaking unless bladdered in which case I speak imperfectly pronounced bollox..... I love a soft scottish accent, sends me all weak and jelly like.
I hate you all!
Lol, you can't be right all the time matey! :bounce:
My fave accents are the Irish and anything with latin twist... After living in London 7 years, my Aussie accent has softened somewhat. Although if you ask my family and friends at home they would say I sound proper English!!! I reckon it just depends who I am talking to. I tend to revert back to proper Aussie if I am around other Australians or after I have had a few drinks...
Although I apparently sound a bit like Joanna Lumley.,,,,,
Did you read our post before writing that? God - now I'm really turned on!!! Please come and talk to me ....
mmmmmmmmmmm........ Celtic lovers!!!!!
Errr, I come from Surrey - People say it's a sexy posh voice but I don't think I have an accent, though I won't complain on the compliments! xx
